CesiumAstro develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic, cross-functional team in Westminster, CO.
In this role, you will design and develop mechanical components, assemblies, structures, and mechanisms for complex aerospace products. You will conduct comprehensive engineering analyses including structural evaluations, tolerance studies, thermal assessments, and design trade studies. Your responsibilities include evaluating engineering drawings, CAD models, and technical documentation to inform mechanical design decisions, and developing and conducting mechanical testing, verification, qualification, and validation activities.
You will evaluate engineering data, test results, and manufacturing information to resolve moderately complex mechanical engineering challenges, and recommend root cause investigations, engineering changes, and design improvements to enhance product reliability and manufacturability. Collaboration is central to the role—you will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and operations teams across multiple programs.
You will develop engineering drawings, 3D models, technical reports, design documentation, bills of materials, and engineering change documentation. You will provide mechanical engineering guidance during design reviews, engineering investigations, manufacturing reviews, and product development activities. Additionally, you will evaluate mechanical engineering methodologies, design practices, and product development processes to identify improvement opportunities, and support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen product performance, manufacturability, reliability, and quality.
This is a hands-on, interactive role offering autonomous work within a collaborative environment. You will have the opportunity to engage across the organization and contribute to cutting-edge space technology development.
