Venti Technologies is building autonomous logistics vehicles to improve safety, sustainability, and human welfare in goods transportation. The company operates globally with offices in Cambridge (Massachusetts), Suzhou (China), and Singapore, and has deployed autonomous systems across Asia for industrial and logistics operations.
As Senior Mapping Specialist, you will own the quality and strategy of map information for the autonomous vehicle fleet. Your responsibilities include setting annotation standards and best practices for the mapping team, defining testing and validation strategies for new maps, and leading map validation tests with the Testing team. You will analyze onboard sensor data to identify and resolve map issues, manage map version deployment and rollout planning across the fleet (including rollback and release coordination), and mentor junior Mapping Specialists while reviewing their work. You will also collaborate with the Mapping and Localization team to improve mapping tools, workflows, and automation.
This is a technical leadership role that combines individual expertise in HD mapping with team mentorship and cross-functional collaboration. You will work at the intersection of robotics, geospatial technology, and autonomous systems deployment.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Engineering, Robotics, or related field
- 4+ years of experience with GIS applications, ideally in HD map creation or maintenance
- Experience planning and running map validation or testing
- Strong problem-solving skills with ability to work independently and handle ambiguity
- Good communication skills and ability to work across teams
BONUS EXPERIENCE:
- Experience with ROS
- Experience with real-world robotics or autonomous vehicle deployment
- Experience leading or mentoring a team
- Experience with scripting (e.g., Python) to automate mapping workflows
- Experience with agentic development, such as using AI coding agents or LLM-based tools to automate and speed up mapping workflows
