CesiumAstro develops advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and other space and airborne platforms. We are seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to lead the development, implementation, and improvement of manufacturing processes and production methods for high-reliability, high-volume satellite products.
In this role, you will own the development of manufacturing processes, production workflows, tooling, fixtures, and work instructions for complex products and assemblies. You will conduct engineering analyses, process evaluations, time studies, and capacity analyses to drive production performance improvements. Your responsibilities include evaluating engineering drawings and specifications, resolving moderately complex manufacturing challenges, and conducting manufacturing process validation, equipment qualification, first article builds, and production readiness activities.
You will analyze production performance data, process capability metrics, and quality metrics to identify and resolve manufacturing issues. Through root cause investigations, engineering changes, and corrective actions, you will validate and continuously improve manufacturing processes. Working cross-functionally with manufacturing, quality, supply chain, production control, and operations teams, you will provide manufacturing engineering support throughout the product lifecycle, including design reviews, manufacturing reviews, and new product introduction activities.
You will develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, engineering reports, and process flows, ensuring all technical information is configuration-controlled and accessible. A key part of this role is identifying manufacturing methodologies and production process improvements that enhance manufacturability, quality, and production readiness.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience
- Experience with Design for Manufacturability (DFM) of electronics hardware
- Knowledge of industry standards: IPC-A-610 and J-STD-001
- Experience with change management, nonconformance documentation, root cause analysis, corrective action systems, and acceptance criteria
- Experience with cost analysis, supplier management, and configuration management
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Statistical process control
- Aerospace or other high-reliability industry background
- PLM and ERP software proficiency
- AS9100/ISO9001 quality management system knowledge
- Lean manufacturing methodologies
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority tasks
