Altruist is an AI-powered platform transforming wealth management by empowering financial advisors to grow their practices, optimize resources, and deliver superior client outcomes.
You will lead Cashiering and Treasury operations for a fast-growing broker-dealer. This role owns how client money moves in and out of the firm, controls that movement, and drives the operations side of the money movement roadmap in partnership with Product and Engineering. The firm is scaling rapidly, and you are expected to grow the function through automation and AI rather than proportional headcount increases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of four or more as a measured, high-performing function. Define and manage metrics (volume, turnaround, error rate, exception aging, cost per transaction) to drive staffing, quality, coaching, and performance decisions.
- Oversee daily check, wire, ACH, debit card, checkbook, and deposit operations, including bank and vendor relationships, cutoffs, and service levels.
- Deliver accurate, on-time cash positioning and funding inputs for liquidity forecasting and bank account funding. Partner with Finance and Treasury on funding decisions and escalations.
- Own the function's controls: daily cash and bank reconciliations with exception escalation, SEC Rule 15c3-3 reserve inputs, principal approval of disbursements, and AML, OFAC, and fraud escalation. Serve as point of contact for audits and regulatory exams.
- Drive the money movement roadmap with Product and Engineering: set priorities, write requirements, test releases, and roll out changes. Use automation and AI to eliminate manual reconciliation, exception handling, and case work as volume grows.
- Keep procedures current as systems change and prepare the function for new products and client growth before go-live.
The role follows a hybrid schedule with at least three days per week onsite in the Dallas office.
Requirements:
- Cashiering, treasury, or money movement operations experience at a broker-dealer, clearing firm, custodian, or bank. For Manager level: 4+ years total, including 2+ years directly managing a team. (Senior Manager and Director levels also available depending on experience.)
- Built, run, and supervised daily cash and bank reconciliations at scale; designed controls that held up under audit and regulatory exam.
- Deep experience with check, wire, ACH, and debit card operations; strong knowledge of NACHA Operating Rules.
- Working command of SEC Rule 15c3-3 and Regulation E; practical experience identifying money movement red flags and handling AML and OFAC escalations.
- Solid knowledge of retirement account contribution and distribution rules, including withholding and tax reporting.
- Track record partnering with Product and Engineering to ship money movement capabilities and automation. Writes clear requirements, runs user acceptance testing, comfortable in SQL or low-code tools. Heavy daily user of AI tools with concrete examples of manual work eliminated.
- Licensing: FINRA Series 7 required at start; Series 24 within 120 days of hire.
