Prosper Marketplace, a leading fintech company and the first peer-to-peer lending platform in the US, is seeking a Senior Manager of Loan Operations to lead and optimize their loan processing operations across Phoenix and San Francisco offices.
In this role, you will lead the optimization of loan operation workflows by identifying bottlenecks and incorporating automation to create a scalable, low-friction operation. You will mentor, develop, and guide the operations team across both Phoenix and San Francisco, fostering a cohesive, collaborative culture focused on execution and quality. You'll establish and execute plans to expand processing capacity, with success defined by operational throughput, faster turnaround times, and strategic resource allocation rather than headcount expansion while maintaining strong loan performance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing workflow data, pipeline metrics, and quality performance indicators to make informed operational decisions
- Managing verification vendor partnerships and holding them accountable to rigorous performance metrics and quality standards
- Conducting detailed assessments of manual loan verification workflows to identify friction points and automation opportunities
- Implementing documented performance measurement plans against established KPIs for both internal teams and external vendors
- Building strong cross-functional relationships with internal business partners and external vendor partners
- Driving workflow improvements and identifying automation opportunities, including AI and OCR solutions
The role includes a structured 90-day onboarding plan: 30 days for integration and baseline audit, 60 days for operational review and prioritization, and 90 days for strategic execution and implementation.

Requirements:
- 7+ years of progressive operational leadership experience within financial services, FinTech, or lending, including direct experience managing other managers and distributed teams
- Experience managing dual-site or multi-site operational processing teams
- Strong track record of analyzing, mapping, and re-engineering workflows to drive automation and efficiency
- Hands-on experience supervising outsourced vendors or external processing partners, with emphasis on metric accountability, SLA enforcement, and quality assurance
- Strong operational mindset with ability to identify, evaluate, and implement automation solutions (including AI and OCR)
- Proven ability to use operational data to evaluate team performance and make data-driven decisions
- Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate effectively across all organizational levels
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Extra Credit: Hands-on experience using or implementing AI into workflows to improve efficiency and scale processing capacity.
