Isar Aerospace, a New Space company building modern launch solutions for small and medium-sized satellites, is establishing a new launch site in Canso, Nova Scotia. As Senior Launch Pad Operations Engineer, you will contribute from the ground up—supporting design, build-up, and commissioning of launch pad systems, then performing launch operations of the Spectrum vehicle once operational.
During the build-up and commissioning phase, you will collaborate closely with engineering teams in Germany to plan and execute commissioning activities on-site. You will be responsible for ensuring the timely and successful transition from construction to operational readiness.
Once operational, you will be part of the local operations team responsible for maintenance, preparation, and operation of launch infrastructure. You will actively participate in launch campaigns, operating ground and vehicle systems during launch countdowns and managing all aspects of pad readiness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading commissioning planning and execution in collaboration with design teams in Germany
- Playing a key role in launch campaigns from preparatory work through launch countdown operations
- Developing and improving procedures and processes to ensure smooth, safe, and efficient operations
- Maintaining high-quality standards while handling flight hardware and systems interfacing with the launch vehicle
- Supporting the build-up of the local operations team, with potential to develop into a leadership role
The role is based in Canso, Nova Scotia. During the initial launch site development phase, flexible working arrangements may be required. An extended onboarding and training period at headquarters in Germany or the launch site in Norway will precede transition to Canso as local operations are established.
