Salary: USD 196,000 - 230,000 / annual
Robinhood is seeking a Senior iOS Engineer to join the Crypto Perpetuals team, which builds advanced trading experiences for customers accessing crypto derivatives markets. The team powers mobile workflows for monitoring price action, understanding market depth, managing risk, and executing trades in rapidly moving markets.
In this role, you will design and build performant mobile experiences that support real-time data, sophisticated trading flows, and highly reliable execution. You'll partner closely with product, design, and backend engineering to deliver intuitive tools for serious traders. Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement scalable iOS application architecture supporting advanced crypto trading experiences for Robinhood's most active investors
- Partner with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and data teams to deliver fast, reliable, and intuitive pro-grade trading tools on mobile
- Improve application performance, real-time data handling, observability, and release stability across core crypto trading workflows
- Lead technical planning and provide guidance during system design reviews, implementation discussions, and incident resolution for high-stakes trading features
- Mentor iOS engineers through code reviews, technical feedback, and structured development support while contributing to engineering standards and documentation
The role is based in Menlo Park, CA; New York, NY; or Toronto, ON, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. Robinhood emphasizes the value of in-person work for accelerating progress, sparking innovation, and strengthening community.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 6+ years of professional experience developing iOS applications
- Extensive experience building and maintaining large-scale iOS applications using Swift and modern iOS development frameworks
- Experience designing mobile systems with clear architecture patterns, scalable component design, and maintainable testing strategies—particularly for data-intensive or real-time use cases
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product, design, backend, and infrastructure partners to deliver customer-focused technical solutions
- Experience leading technical initiatives across multiple teams and balancing short-term delivery needs with long-term platform improvements
- Experience working on financial platforms, trading systems, or real-time market data products (preferred)
- Clear communication skills and ability to translate complex trading concepts into intuitive mobile experiences
- Must be a US citizen or lawful permanent resident (position restricted)
