Scrunch, a Sitecore company, is building the platform that helps marketing teams adapt to an AI-first discovery landscape. As AI search and conversational agents (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) increasingly replace traditional web search, Scrunch enables brands to optimize how their products and services are discovered and surfaced on these AI platforms. The company serves over 500 paying customers, including Fortune 500 companies like Lenovo and ADP.
We are seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to design, build, and operate the foundational systems powering Scrunch's platform. This is a high-ownership role spanning cloud infrastructure, developer tooling, observability, and reliability. Infrastructure is business-critical at Scrunch—customers depend on it, and you will have real impact shaping how the platform scales.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and operating cloud services at scale, with a focus on GCP
- Building and maintaining edge compute functions, making architectural decisions about edge vs. centralized compute
- Implementing infrastructure-as-code practices using tools like Terraform
- Optimizing database performance and identifying scaling bottlenecks before they cause outages
- Designing reliable, retryable async pipelines using workflow orchestration tools
- Building observable systems with structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics, and alerting
- Writing production-quality code (primarily Python) and applying software engineering principles to infrastructure work
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience in high-velocity software development organizations
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating cloud services at scale (GCP preferred)
- Deployed and operated edge compute functions; understanding of edge vs. centralized compute tradeoffs
- Infrastructure-as-code mindset; experience with Terraform or similar tools
- Solid understanding of database performance and scaling patterns; hands-on bottleneck identification and resolution
- Familiarity with workflow orchestration (Prefect, Airflow, Temporal, Inngest, or similar) and async pipeline design
- Strong foundation in observable systems: structured logging, distributed tracing, metrics dashboards, alerting
- Comfortable writing production-quality code (primarily Python); software engineering mindset applied to infrastructure
