d-Matrix is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own and operate the software infrastructure that powers the company's generative AI platform. You will be the first responder for production issues across Kubernetes clusters, CI/CD systems, compute environments, and demo infrastructure. This role combines cloud resources, conventional servers, and d-Matrix's proprietary AI accelerators and networking hardware. Key responsibilities include: - Owning first response and end-to-end resolution for infrastructure issues across Kubernetes, GitLab CI runners, VMs, and standalone systems - Triaging issues across teams, coordinating with IT and product software groups when root causes lie outside your domain - Converting recurring issues into automation, alerts, and runbooks to prevent repeat incidents - Improving monitoring and alerting systems to reduce false positives and accelerate detection of real problems - Performing routine operational work including upgrades, patching, certificate renewals, and capacity planning - Shipping automation and infrastructure improvements beyond individual fixes - Participating in on-call coverage for the production environment - Contributing to design and build work across infrastructure systems as your scope expands This is not an IT support or ticket-queue role. You will manage everything from the operating system up, while IT handles physical hardware. The role requires methodical debugging across multiple layers, clear communication under pressure, and the ability to quickly isolate root causes in complex, heterogeneous environments. Requirements: - 2+ years operating production Linux systems with hands-on Kubernetes troubleshooting experience - Methodical debugging skills: forming hypotheses, narrowing them quickly, and working across layers when obvious answers are wrong - Scripting experience in Python and/or Bash - Familiarity with CI/CD systems (GitLab preferred) - Working knowledge of networking fundamentals including DNS, routing, load balancing, and TLS - Experience with monitoring and observability tools - Clear communication under pressure, including concise incident status updates - Drive and curiosity to learn unfamiliar systems and how state-of-the-art inference systems are built Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with GPU or accelerator nodes in Kubernetes - Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Ansible or Terraform - Experience with monitoring platforms such as DataDog, Prometheus, or Grafana - Bare metal or on-premises infrastructure experience - CKA or CKAD certification
