Casca is building AI-native technology to replace legacy banking systems and automate manual work in lending. As Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will own and evolve the foundational systems powering Casca's AI-driven lending platform, enabling the engineering team to ship quickly and reliably.
You will be a hands-on individual contributor writing significant code and debugging complex distributed systems. Key responsibilities include:
- Own infrastructure-as-code (AWS CDK, Terraform, Pulumi) for cloud resources across AWS and Cloudflare
- Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for fast, safe releases across multiple environments
- Build and improve observability systems—metrics, logging, tracing, and alerting—giving engineers deep visibility into system behavior and enabling rapid incident response
- Develop internal tooling and automation that eliminates toil and accelerates developer workflows
- Drive reliability improvements: capacity planning, failure mode analysis, disaster recovery, and incident response processes
- Collaborate with product engineers to design operationally sound systems from day one, balancing speed with maintainability
- Contribute to security and compliance initiatives for a regulated fintech environment
This is a high-intensity role at an early-stage AI company. Many weeks will demand extra focus, flexibility, and time during major launches and high-impact sprints.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, or SRE roles, with a track record of building systems other engineers depend on daily
- Strong coding skills in at least one of: Python, Go, TypeScript, or Rust; production-quality automation, not glue scripts
- Deep experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and core services: compute, networking, IAM, managed databases, storage
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CDK, Pulumi) and CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions, BuildKite, or similar)
- Solid understanding of containerization (Docker) and container orchestration concepts with hands-on production experience
- Experience building and operating observability stacks: instrumentation, dashboards, telemetry-driven diagnostics
- Familiarity with common failure modes in distributed systems and mitigation strategies (blast radius control, graceful degradation, rollback mechanisms)
- Comfortable balancing "doing it right" with "shipping it now" in fast-paced environments
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience in regulated industries (fintech, healthcare) with security and compliance focus
- Familiarity with ML pipeline orchestration
- Experience with multi-tenant SaaS architectures and customer-specific deployments
- On-call rotation and incident response experience in high-stakes production environments
