Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting growing demand for launch capacity. The company is developing a rocket, factory, and business from the ground up, with a culture emphasizing autonomy, ownership, and impact at every level.
The Launch team operates at the intersection of every major aspect of Terran R, from stages and payloads to ground systems, launch, landing, and refurbishment. Cape Canaveral is where first flights happen and where the scale of operations is unlike anything in modern aerospace.
In this role, you will lead electrical project design and development of construction drawings for launch and processing facility projects, applying engineering judgment from early requirements through installation and commissioning. You will design and provide technical direction for electrical systems across voltage levels ranging from 22.5 kV to 120 V, including power generation, distribution, protection, controls, and sequencing systems. You will own electrical system requirements, design analyses, equipment selection, and technical reviews while identifying and resolving complex integration, reliability, and operational challenges.
You will develop and review construction drawings, requests for proposals, bid packages, technical specifications, and bid evaluations, and provide technical oversight of subcontractors throughout project execution. You will lead electrical installation, startup, troubleshooting, and commissioning activities in collaboration with construction, operations, and cross-functional engineering teams. You will partner with management and engineering stakeholders to establish technical approaches, improve design standards, and support the development of future Relativity Space launch and processing facilities.
Successful candidates must clear a background check administered by the US government to obtain clearance for on-site work at the government partner location in Cape Canaveral, Florida.

- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
- 6+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience
- Experience independently developing and delivering electrical system designs using engineering first principles, including requirements development, analysis, troubleshooting, and technical decision-making
- Experience with aerospace, utility, or industrial electrical systems involving power generation, distribution, redundancy, protection, controls, or other high-power applications
- Experience owning electrical projects through multiple phases of the project lifecycle, such as design, procurement, construction, commissioning, or operations
- Experience reviewing technical designs, resolving complex engineering issues, and providing technical guidance to engineers, contractors, or cross-functional project teams
- Ability to communicate technical decisions, risks, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders across engineering, operations, construction, and management
NICE TO HAVES:
- Experience in the orbital launch industry or hands-on experience with aviation or rocket ground power systems
- Experience designing or commissioning medium- to high-power electrical systems for utility, industrial, aerospace, or mission-critical facilities
- Experience applying NFPA, military, NASA, or similar regulatory and technical requirements to electrical system design
- Familiarity with crane, elevator, or similar equipment involving integrated control and power systems
