Obviant is building a data platform and AI tools for defense acquisition, fusing information from thousands of structured and unstructured sources to provide intelligence on budgets, programs, and organizations. The defense market is growing rapidly, but decision-makers are forced to rely on manual processes and disparate data sources. Obviant solves this by creating a single source of truth.
In this role, you will own features end-to-end across the full technical stack. You'll shape product direction through your perspective on design and implementation, working closely with users to understand their workflows and translate challenges into elegant solutions. Your responsibilities include:
- Owning features from conception through shipping, driving how solutions are built, designed, and implemented
- Working across the full technical spectrum: robust APIs, type systems, intuitive frontends, and component libraries
- Collaborating with users to understand workflows and create transformative solutions
- Designing and building data visualization tools that clarify complex information
- Developing innovative AI/ML solutions in defense technology, an area historically underserved by modern, cohesive platforms

QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5+ years of full stack software development experience, with a track record of building solutions users love
- Proficiency with Typescript, Next.js, Express, PostgreSQL, and ClickHouse (preferred)
- Natural drive to understand users and translate their challenges into elegant solutions
- Demonstrated ability to own features end-to-end and see them through to success
- Government, govtech, or defense experience welcome but not required
- Passion for defense and the mission
- Comfort with the pace and impact of a fast-growing startup
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance
