Employment Hero is a global HR and employment technology company serving 350,000+ SMEs and over 3 million employees. Their Employment Operating System integrates hiring, HR, payroll and benefits into a unified platform.
As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, you will own product features end-to-end across the Employment Operating System. You'll take features from understanding customer needs through design, development, testing and production deployment. The role emphasizes autonomous problem-solving, full-stack capability, and leveraging AI-assisted development tools to accelerate delivery.

- Build across the stack: develop scalable backend services, APIs and intuitive frontend experiences
- Solve complex challenges around performance, reliability, scalability and user experience
- Use AI coding agents to accelerate development while maintaining high standards
- Make smart trade-offs between speed, quality and technical complexity
- Collaborate with Product, Design and Engineering teams, conduct code reviews and share knowledge
The company operates with a "One Problem, One Engineer" approach where engineers own problems end-to-end rather than completing assigned tasks. Culture emphasizes mission-first thinking, remote-first autonomy, AI-first development, living by values, and high performance expectations.
Compensation includes ESOP (Employee Share Options), comprehensive benefits (generous parental leave, subsidised egg freezing, home office allowance), learning and development opportunities, and annual global team gatherings.

- Strong backend development experience: proficient in at least one of Python, Java, PHP, Ruby, JavaScript/TypeScript or similar
- Fullstack capability: proven experience building and delivering production web applications across backend and frontend
- Frontend fundamentals: comfortable with JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS and modern frontend development (no specific framework required)
- Solid engineering fundamentals: strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, relational databases, system design, automated testing and software engineering best practices

- AI-first mindset: comfortable using AI-assisted development tools and eager to leverage coding agents
- Product thinking: focused on understanding customer needs and delivering meaningful outcomes
- Strong collaboration: good written and spoken English, proactive approach, ability to thrive in global remote-first team
- Ruby experience not required; company will support skill development
