Double is a mission-driven fintech platform transforming how bookkeepers and accountants work. Founded in 2021 and backed by Y Combinator and founders from leading startups (Lattice, Front, Superhuman, Plaid), Double has raised $12M and serves thousands of bookkeepers managing finances for US startups and small businesses.
The company is building an all-in-one tool that replaces fragmented Excel spreadsheets and homegrown project management solutions, enabling bookkeepers to manage work, communicate with clients, identify errors, and deliver strategic reports.
As a Senior Fullstack Engineer, you will:
- Ship software to production daily using coding agents
- Influence product direction through engineering decisions
- Collaborate with a high-performing Engineering, Product, and Design (EPD) team
You are someone with a proven track record of shipping systems that solved hard problems—not just meeting deadlines, but delivering impact (e.g., building tools that made your team 5x faster or solving problems others thought impossible). You operate with high agency, identifying what needs to be done and driving it forward without waiting for direction. You've felt frustrated when things move slowly and have taken action to fix it.
Tech Stack:
- Front-end: React + Redux Toolkit/React Query (TypeScript)
- Back-end: Node.js + Express (TypeScript), TypeORM, PostgreSQL
Requirements:
- 4+ years of demonstrable experience architecting and developing applications with Node.js
- Demonstrable experience writing type-safe code with TypeScript
- Strong ES6 experience
- Experience using agents to ship to production
- Experience building applications with React and Node
- Experience with TypeORM (plus)
- Experience with TanStack Query (plus)
