You'll join a newly formed team building custom solutions that extend the Staffbase platform for enterprise customers. This role combines full-stack development ownership with technical leadership of a growing team. You'll own solutions end-to-end: shaping use cases with stakeholders, building across the stack, testing, and validating with users. You'll also mentor mid-level engineers and help establish engineering standards and processes for the new team.
Key responsibilities:
- Own custom solution development from technical design through implementation, testing, and release
- Partner with customers, consultants, and internal teams to define use cases and validate solutions
- Build customer-facing UI in React and TypeScript, backend services, and third-party integrations
- Mentor mid-level engineers and bring structure to team processes and engineering standards
- Work in cross-functional, agile teams producing high-quality, well-tested code
- Participate in code reviews, share knowledge, and continuously learn
- Push code frequently, maintain healthy CI/CD pipelines, and automate where beneficial
Tech stack includes: React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, Node.js, Kotlin, Go, Java, MongoDB, REST APIs & SDKs, Docker, Terraform, Selenium, and Cypress.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years professional experience as a fullstack developer, including team-based work and owning solutions from concept to delivery
- Strong frontend skills: React.js, TypeScript, JavaScript
- Solid backend experience: Kotlin, Java, or Node.js
- Confidence with REST APIs, SDKs, and external system integrations
- Experience mentoring or guiding less-experienced developers and bringing structure to team workflows
- Ability to work directly with stakeholders, translating business needs into technical solutions
- Strong focus on quality, clean code, testing, and continuous learning
- Fluent written and spoken English and German (both required for stakeholder and customer collaboration)
- Self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team
- Appreciation for diversity and inclusivity in the workplace
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with Go, MongoDB, Docker, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, Terraform, Prometheus, or Grafana
- Background in professional services, consulting, or building custom customer-facing solutions
- Knowledge of enterprise integration concepts (SSO, SAML, OIDC, SCIM)
- Understanding of REST and microservices architecture
