Microsoft's Azure Data engineering team is transforming analytics through products including Microsoft Fabric, Azure SQL DB, Azure Cosmos DB, and Power BI. The Platform team within Microsoft Fabric builds and operates the unified foundation that brings together all Fabric workloads into a single, cohesive experience, providing shared infrastructure, governance, security, and a unified data model.
In this role, you will design and implement scalable test strategies and automation that validate end-to-end scenarios across the Fabric Platform, with emphasis on cross-workload integration and real-world usage patterns. You'll partner closely with engineering, product management, and SRE teams to embed quality early in the development lifecycle and ensure reliable, production-ready releases.
Key responsibilities include building and evolving intelligent test infrastructure that leverages telemetry, synthetic data, and production signals to detect issues before they impact customers. You'll identify systemic quality risks across services and drive improvements in reliability, performance, and resilience at cloud scale. You'll contribute to a culture of continuous quality by improving test coverage, reducing gaps, and enabling faster, more confident delivery. Additionally, you'll investigate complex issues in distributed systems, using data-driven approaches to isolate root causes and validate fixes effectively.
This is an opportunity to work on a mission-critical platform that powers a new class of data-first applications and drives a data culture across enterprises.

- Proven ability to operate independently and lead through ambiguity; able to own and drive small-to-medium engineering projects end-to-end in a dynamic, fast-changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to make sound technical decisions, resolve ambiguity, and move forward independently
- Strong engineering fundamentals and results-driven mindset; ability to design, build, debug, and troubleshoot complex software systems
- Instinct for identifying failure modes and edge cases without compromising on quality
- Must be able to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check (required upon hire and every two years thereafter)
