Scalable Capital, a leading European fintech platform with over €30 billion in assets under management and 1M+ clients, is seeking Full Stack Engineers to join their engineering team in Munich.
In this role, you will build and scale high-impact systems across the digital product landscape, including client-facing web applications, workflow automation, and internal platforms powering core operations. You'll work on both seamless user journeys and robust backend microservices in a regulated financial environment. The team emphasizes a strong product mindset—balancing speed of delivery with building reusable, scalable architecture. AI is central to how the team works; you will use modern AI tooling to build intelligent features into products and internal engineering workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- End-to-End Delivery: Build and maintain high-quality client-facing applications, internal tools, APIs, and microservices across the full stack.
- Full Stack Architecture: Work across modern frontend interfaces, backend services, asynchronous queues, and cloud infrastructure.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Product, Operations, Design, and Data teams to streamline workflows and build scalable solutions.
- Engineering Excellence: Write clean, testable, maintainable code with emphasis on security, data privacy, and operational reliability in a regulated environment.
- Continuous Growth: Contribute to architectural improvements, testing, observability, and developer experience. Depending on experience, shape technical direction, mentor peers, and elevate engineering standards.
The company operates across Munich, Berlin, Vienna, Milan, and London with over 700 employees. Scalable Capital offers a full banking license and provides investment platforms (Scalable Broker, Scalable Wealth), wealth management services, and the European Investor Exchange.
Benefits include international relocation support, flexible work arrangements, education budget, German language classes, 50% Deutschland Jobticket subsidy, complimentary PRIME+ Broker subscription, and discounted sports activities.
Requirements:
- Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or comparable practical industry experience building production-grade software.
- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript, modern frontend frameworks (React, Next.js), and backend frameworks (Node.js, NestJS).
- Practical experience building and operating both frontend web applications and production backend services (APIs, databases, serverless/lambdas).
- Good understanding of REST APIs, GraphQL, authentication/authorization patterns (JWT), and service-to-service integrations.
- Working knowledge of modern cloud infrastructure and tooling: AWS, Docker, Git, CI/CD, and production observability/debugging.
- Strong analytical thinking with ability to make pragmatic engineering and product trade-offs; ownership from idea to production.
- Clear, open, concise communication skills with professional fluency in English.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with distributed systems, event-driven architectures, queues, or asynchronous workflows.
- Familiarity with additional backend languages (Python, Java, Kotlin).
- Background building software in regulated, high-security, or operationally critical environments.
