Salary: AUD 160,000 - 200,000 / annual
Sitemate builds software and AI agents for construction, infrastructure, and industrial companies. The company operates platforms including Dashpivot (safety, quality, field reporting), Gearbelt (fleet and asset management), Flowsite (no-code integrations), and the Sitemate mobile app. With strong product-market fit and backing from Blackbird, Sitemate has 200 people across 18+ countries.
This Senior Full Stack Engineer role is an ownership position responsible for product outcomes end-to-end: from shaping technical approaches and building features through to release, reliability, and production performance. You'll work in small, high-trust teams alongside Product and Design to define problems, shape solutions, implement clean and scalable systems, and take responsibility for what ships.
At the senior level, you'll lead technical decisions within a team attached to a product, help shape architecture, mentor engineers, and have direct input into how products evolve. Two key shifts define senior engineering here: (1) operating as a product-minded engineer—joining customer calls, interpreting usage data, and making strategic decisions about what to ship; and (2) leading the shift to agentic engineering, where senior engineers define and orchestrate AI agents to build features rather than writing every line.
Day-to-day responsibilities include contributing to architecture decisions and long-term technical vision, building and shipping impactful features, shaping experiences around AI-powered developer tools, mentoring engineers through code reviews and pairing, contributing improvements to developer experience (tooling, CI/CD, monitoring), and collaborating directly with product, design, and leadership.
The role operates in a fast-moving, outcome-driven environment where engineering, product, and delivery function as one integrated team. You'll work across frontend, backend, and mobile using TypeScript, React, Node.js, Angular, MongoDB, and AWS. Key challenges include high technical complexity beneath simple UIs (shared components across multiple products, backend services powering web and mobile clients), maintaining pace while balancing speed with quality, and helping establish engineering leadership frameworks and career ladders during organizational growth.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must Have:
- Proven experience building and shipping production software at scale
- Ability to lead architecture decisions and technical direction
- Experience mentoring and uplifting other engineers
- Strong product mindset—thinks about customer outcomes, not just implementation
- Strong enthusiasm for agentic engineering and AI-first workflows
