Kpler is a global analytics and intelligence platform founded in 2014, serving over 850 experts across 69 countries. The company specializes in simplifying complex trade information and providing actionable insights for commodities, energy, and maritime sectors.
In this Senior Full Stack Engineer role, you will design, build, and deploy robust full-stack applications that power Kpler's platform. You'll architect high-performance REST and GraphQL APIs backed by optimized relational (SQL) and non-relational (NoSQL) databases. Your responsibilities include driving operational excellence across AWS cloud infrastructure by maintaining CI/CD pipelines, containerized deployments with Docker, and proactive observability.
You will champion modern software engineering practices including code reviews, automated testing, and integration of AI development tools (e.g., Cursor, Claude Code) to enhance team velocity. Close collaboration with Product, Data Engineering, and SRE teams is essential to translate complex maritime domain needs into scalable technical solutions. You'll monitor system SLAs—focusing on throughput, API latency, and uptime—to ensure seamless data delivery to end-users.
The tech stack centers on TypeScript for frontend development using Vue.js or React, Python with FastAPI for backend services, and AWS for cloud infrastructure. You'll work on systems handling global trade data at scale, contributing to a platform that helps organizations navigate complex markets.
REQUIREMENTS:
Must-haves:
- 5+ years of professional software development experience building production-grade full-stack systems
- Strong expertise in frontend development using TypeScript and Vue.js or React
- Hands-on proficiency in backend development with Python (FastAPI or similar frameworks) and API design (REST/GraphQL)
- Proven track record working with cloud platforms (AWS), Docker, and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
- Demonstrated experience optimizing database performance across SQL and NoSQL environments
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience using modern AI-assisted software development tools to accelerate workflow and output quality
- Prior exposure to streaming architectures, message brokers (Kafka), or large-scale data processing pipelines
- Domain knowledge in maritime, supply chain, or global commodities logistics
