Twelve Labs is building AI infrastructure that enables machines to understand video at scale. Video comprises 90% of global data, yet most remains inaccessible to machine understanding. Twelve Labs operates globally from offices in San Francisco, Seoul, New York, and London, with core R&D centered in Seoul.
The Forge team builds a B2B SaaS platform that connects Twelve Labs' proprietary AI models to customers. Currently, the platform serves individual developers through enterprises via APIs, SDKs, and the Playground web application. The team is expanding to build a unified platform foundation with authentication, billing, organization management, and a consistent data layer across all products. The team operates from San Francisco and Seoul offices, valuing autonomy and open-mindedness as core principles. Engineers participate in product design from inception, conduct peer code reviews, and collaborate closely with PMs and designers.
As Senior Frontend Engineer, you will lead frontend architecture and user experience for Playground (model exploration and utilization) and Jockey App (AI agent interaction). You will design and develop intuitive interfaces that make complex AI functionality accessible to customers. Responsibilities include: designing conversational interfaces with real-time responses and task progress visualization; implementing robust state management for authentication, organization, billing, and usage data; collaborating with PMs and designers from design phase through post-launch iteration; partnering with backend and AI engineers on API and event interface design; developing reusable components and common UI patterns; and driving quality improvements through testing, performance optimization, and accessibility enhancements.
You will work across product design, implementation, and post-launch refinement, taking ownership of feature design and execution. The role requires fluency in business-level English for technical discussions and documentation, and effective collaboration across functions and geographies.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years of frontend development experience, with demonstrated ownership of production web applications from design through launch and operations
- Expert proficiency in React and TypeScript, with experience architecting web application structure and data flows using tools like Next.js and React Query
- Experience handling asynchronous data flows and complex UI state, implementing stable user experiences across loading, error, and retry scenarios
- Demonstrated ability to improve frontend quality and maintainability through component design, state management, testing, and performance optimization
- Ability to evaluate priorities and technical trade-offs amid changing requirements, and collaborate with PMs, designers, and backend engineers to define solutions
- Business-level English proficiency for technical discussion and documentation; effective collaboration across functions and regions
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with CSS frameworks (e.g., Tailwind) or custom design systems for responsive web development
- Experience with design tools (e.g., Figma) and collaboration with in-house design teams
- Testing experience with open-source tools (Jest, React Testing Library)
- Understanding of REST API design and experience with Mock Service Worker for mock API servers
- Enterprise-level product development experience
- Understanding of SDLC and frontend infrastructure (CI/CD, build tools, caching, optimization)
- Experience developing video-related services (streaming, search, etc.)
