They're seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer to join their Spain-based team responsible for building and scaling octopusenergy.es, customer onboarding flows, and the customer private area.
You will act as the technical driver for the frontend space, working closely with Marketing and internal stakeholders while collaborating with international engineering teams across Europe. The role focuses primarily on Frontend development, though interest in Backend or Fullstack work is valued.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating internationally with Octopus Energy ES and global teams to develop and integrate new features
- Owning key product modules including the private area, bill management, saving sessions, customer onboarding optimization, and marketing dashboards from a frontend perspective
- Delivering code that directly impacts millions of customers with fast feedback cycles
- Working in a flat hierarchy with an agile, innovative culture
- Staying flexible to work across different business areas as priorities evolve, with optional involvement in backend work (Python/Django, GraphQL)

Requirements:
- Fluent spoken English (essential; team is international)
- Strong, proven experience as a Senior Frontend Engineer with solid grasp of modern frontend architecture
- Deep expertise in TypeScript and React
- Hands-on experience with Next.js, ideally hosted on Vercel
- Experience working with GraphQL as a data layer
- Comfort with CSS-in-JS solutions (PandaCSS experience is a plus)
- Solid testing practices using Vitest, React Testing Library, and Playwright
- Experience working within a monorepo structure
- Flexible, collaborative mindset and comfort in fast-paced, evolving environments
Nice to have:
- Interest or experience in Backend development, particularly Python (Django)
- Familiarity with PostgreSQL
- Fullstack mindset with curiosity about the full technical picture
