The Discovery team incubates and matures high-potential, software-defined, AI-native offerings addressing critical challenges across hardware, software, space, and cyber domains. This team architects mission autonomy and mesh networking, delivering scalable solutions for urgent national security needs.
As a Senior Frontend Software Engineer on the Discovery team, you will develop tools and capabilities extending Anduril's Lattice OS to solve unique customer problems in command and control of complex assets, planning and execution of missile defense missions, networking, and remote asset management in far-edge environments. You will work on a fast-paced team alongside real operators, with opportunities to see your creations operate in fielded deployment environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing tools and capabilities that extend Lattice OS for customer-specific problems
- Collaborating closely with customers, product designers, and engineering teams to shape and build new software products
- Building, testing, deploying, and demonstrating mission-critical code in tight feedback loops with end users
- Traveling up to 25% of the time to participate in customer events and deploy capabilities in real-world scenarios
- Contributing to development of existing software services, creating reusable components across multiple product lines
You will embody a "Whatever It Takes" mindset—executing tasks expediently, scalably, and pragmatically while prioritizing the mission. You will make sound engineering decisions to deliver high-quality outcomes on time and work directly with customers to deploy software.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics
- 4-8+ years of proficiency with React and TypeScript
- Ability to empathize with end-users, turn needs into features, and balance user experience with engineering constraints
- Experience with real-time user interfaces using reactive programming libraries (ReactJS or similar)
- Ability to quickly understand and navigate complex systems and established code bases
- Desire to work on critical software with real-world impact
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Development of military operator-facing user interfaces
- Experience working with military customers
- Knowledge of distributed communication networks and message standards
- Knowledge of military systems and operational tactics
