Jobber is a B2B SaaS platform helping small home-service businesses (plumbers, painters, landscapers) manage quoting, scheduling, invoicing, and payments. The company has been recognized by Great Place to Work and named to Deloitte Canada's Technology Fast 50 and Globe and Mail's Canada's Top Growing Companies lists.
You will join the Web Strategy team to build and continuously improve getjobber.com, one of Jobber's primary growth engines. The website runs a high-velocity experimentation program and pushes the limits of what a marketing site can achieve for conversion, SEO, and AI-driven discovery.
In this senior individual-contributor role, you will:
**Core Responsibilities:**
- Ship production features in Next.js, Sanity, and React with TypeScript across getjobber.com, from marketing pages to conversion-critical surfaces like pricing.
- Contribute to and extend the shared component library and design system to enable faster, consistent, reusable development.
- Own performance and accessibility as first-class requirements—Core Web Vitals, semantic markup, and fast page loads that directly support conversion.
- Work across the stack on a content-driven site: integrate with a headless CMS and build/consume APIs and services powering the pages.
- Write well-tested, scalable code and drive consistent engineering practices through code review.
- Build and ship A/B and multivariate experiments quickly, partnering with CRO and product stakeholders.
- Support SEO and AI-search initiatives with technical foundations like structured data and performance optimization.
**Technical Leadership & AI:**
- Use AI coding tools and agents fluently (Claude, AI-assisted IDEs, agentic workflows) to accelerate development while maintaining quality standards.
- Improve how the team works with AI—building and refining MCP integrations, prompts, and context to make the codebase AI-ready.
- Help define and benchmark team standards for AI-assisted development.
- Set patterns and technical direction for how the team builds, mentoring other front-end developers and lifting their skills.
- Partner with the Engineering Manager on technical standards, code quality, and architecture (no people-management responsibilities).
- Interface with Product engineers to coordinate across shared systems and align on patterns and integrations.
**Requirements:**
- Deep front-end expertise: expert command of HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, accessibility, and web performance, with several years building production applications.
- Strong Next.js and React experience: you've built and maintained real applications on this stack and understand modern rendering, component architecture, and tooling.
- Back-end familiarity (full-stack ideal): comfortable working beyond the front end, building and integrating APIs and services, and reasoning about systems behind pages. Full-stack background highly preferred.
- Headless CMS experience (required): you've built content-driven sites on a headless CMS and understand how to model, integrate, and ship content at scale.
- Hands-on AI-assisted development: you actively use AI coding tools in day-to-day work and have a point of view on where they help, where they don't, and how to use them responsibly.
- Growth and experimentation mindset: comfortable building for measurement and iteration, and you care about business outcomes your code drives.
- Technical leadership without ego: you set standards and mentor others while staying collaborative and open to better ideas.
- Strong communication: you collaborate easily with technical and non-technical partners—designers, marketers, PMs, and CRO.
- Ambitious and humble: you push for better, newer, more innovative approaches while staying grounded.
- Comfort in grey areas: adaptable, can prioritize amid ambiguity and changing priorities, and break large complex problems into shippable pieces.
**Nice to Have:**
- Experience with client-side and feature-flag experimentation platforms (Optimizely, Kameleoon, Adobe Target) and analytics tools (Amplitude, GA360).
- Experience working within a design system or maintaining a shared component library.
- Experience collaborating with product engineering teams across shared systems.
- Experience collaborating closely with designers in Figma.
