Synapticon builds motion control and actuator technology for next-generation humanoid robots. The ACTILINK actuator series and Positron Safety AI architecture are deployed in demanding humanoid and advanced robotics programmes globally.
You will lead firmware design for the next-generation robotic axis controller. This is a hands-on senior role where you contribute across all phases of product development—from design through manufacturing. You'll work closely with control performance and customer applications teams to refine control strategies and optimize performance on Synapticon's unique multi-core SoC.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and developing efficient, flexible servo controller firmware
- Collaborating with control and applications teams to improve system behavior
- Writing clear, maintainable code that guides team practices
- Maintaining version control hygiene and helping teammates understand complex systems
- Applying sound security and privacy practices aligned with relevant standards
- Communicating technical solutions effectively through specifications and meetings
- Leveraging modern development tools and LLM-assisted development thoughtfully

REQUIREMENTS:
- Very strong theoretical and practical background in firmware development
- Several years of professional experience with embedded systems, algorithms, data structures, and design patterns
- Deep proficiency with debuggers, build tools, and version control
- Demonstrated ability to write clear, maintainable code and reason through complex systems
- Experience guiding teams toward good coding practices
- Proficiency with modern coding tools and LLM-assisted development, with critical judgment about when to use them
- Understanding of security and privacy standards and their impact on design
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in international teams
- Full-time, permanent contract basis (40 hours/week)
