Blank Street is seeking a Senior FF&E and Styling Designer to lead the design and execution of furniture, fixtures, equipment, and styling across their growing store portfolio. This is a hands-on role that bridges studio design work with on-site installation and quality assurance.
You will own the FF&E and styling direction for new stores from concept through opening day, ensuring consistency across markets while respecting local character. Key responsibilities include developing and evolving the Blank Street FF&E language, creating mood boards and sample boards that balance creativity with durability and budget, and building a comprehensive FF&E standards library with approved furniture, lighting, finishes, and accessories.
You'll manage FF&E schedules, specifications, and procurement trackers—tracking lead times, costs, and deliveries. During installation, you'll conduct quality and finish checks, resolve last-minute issues, and ensure every space meets design intent, safety standards, and operational requirements before handover. You'll work closely with Interior Design, project managers, contractors, and Operations teams, providing regular updates to management.
The role requires splitting time between the studio and store sites, with periodic travel. You'll be expected to roll up your sleeves during on-site work and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and makers.
**Requirements:**
- BArch or MArch degree in design or design-related field (Interior Design, Architecture, or equivalent)
- 8+ years of experience in FF&E design, interior styling, or interior design, ideally in hospitality, F&B, or retail
- Proven experience leading FF&E packages from concept through procurement to installation
- Hands-on experience with on-site installation and styling
- Strong visual eye and deep knowledge of furniture, lighting, finishes, materials, and accessories
- Solid network of suppliers and makers; understanding of commercial FF&E standards, lead times, and compliance (fire ratings, durability)
- Commercial mindset with confidence managing budgets and negotiating with suppliers
- Highly organized, able to juggle multiple projects, schedules, and logistics
- Excellent communicator, confident with suppliers, contractors, and colleagues at all levels
- Calm, practical, solutions-focused problem solver; self-directed and open to feedback
- Genuine interest in sustainable design and responsible specification
- Portfolio submission required
