Salary: USD 184,900 - 250,200 / annual
Twitch, the world's largest live streaming platform, is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Security Platform team. You will manage a diverse group of software engineers building critical tools and automation solutions that power security, privacy, and data engineering across Twitch.
Your team will operate the security data platform handling billions of weekly events and a multi-petabyte data lake, along with analysis tools supporting critical security programs including Fraud, Service-to-Service Auth, Detection and Incident Response, Vulnerability Management, Engineering Intelligence, and Privacy. You will lead engineers responsible for writing software to accomplish security at scale through automation, libraries, and services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading and mentoring a team of software engineers, focusing on attracting, growing, and retaining talent
- Overseeing the design, development, and deployment of scalable tooling and automation
- Managing the full software development lifecycle from product discovery through roadmap prioritization and execution
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams across Twitch on company-wide security programs
- Extending, scaling, and redefining the Twitch Security Platform
- Working with customers across the organization to gather feedback and inform engineering prioritization
You will report to the Director of Security, Identity, and Privacy Platforms. The role offers flexibility to work from San Francisco, Irvine, Seattle, or New York.
Requirements:
- 7+ years of professional software development experience
- 3+ years as an engineering manager or team lead
- Knowledge of AWS services, open source technologies, ETL tools, and data warehousing solutions
- Experience hiring and developing remote engineers
- Experience gathering customer feedback to inform engineering prioritization
- Experience leading an AI-first engineering team
Bonus qualifications:
- B.S. or M.S. in computer science, software engineering, or related technical discipline
- Experience working with petabyte-scale data systems
- Hands-on experience managing AWS services
- Familiarity with Twitch as a viewer or creator
