Salary: USD 184,900 - 250,200 / annual
Twitch is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for the Security Platform team. You will lead a diverse group of software engineers building critical tools and automation solutions that operate at scale across Twitch's infrastructure. Reporting to the Director of Security, Identity, and Privacy Platforms, you will manage engineers responsible for operating Twitch's security data platform (handling billions of weekly events and a multi-petabyte data lake), analysis tools that support security programs across the organization, and software automation solutions for security at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the full software development lifecycle from product discovery through roadmap prioritization and execution
- Attracting, growing, and retaining excellent software engineers
- Overseeing design, development, and deployment of scalable tooling and automation
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams on Twitch-wide security programs including Fraud, Service-to-Service Auth, Detection and Incident Response, Vulnerability Management, Engineering Intelligence, and Privacy
- Extending, scaling, and redefining the Twitch Security Platform
- Encouraging and enabling excellent work through leadership
You will work with a team managing petabytes of security data, building systems that provide critical insights to support important security initiatives across the company. The role combines software engineering expertise with data engineering at the intersection of security, privacy, and platform engineering.
The role offers flexibility to work from San Francisco, CA; Irvine, CA; Seattle, WA; or New York, NY.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of professional software development
- 3+ years as an engineering manager or team lead
- Knowledge of AWS services, open source technologies, and ETL tools and data warehousing solutions
- Experience hiring and developing remote engineers
- Experience gathering feedback from customers to inform engineering prioritization
- Experience leading an AI-first engineering team
BONUS:
- B.S. or M.S. in computer science, software engineering, or related technical discipline
- Experience working with petabyte-scale data systems
- Experience using and managing Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Familiarity with Twitch as a viewer or creator
