Salary: USD 239,000 - 298,800 / annual
Mercury is a fintech platform providing banking, treasury, and financial workflow solutions for startups and technology companies. You will lead a mobile engineering team of 13 engineers (Android, iOS, and backend specialists) who have been building mobile applications for over a decade with strong craftsmanship and passion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor an experienced team of 13 mobile engineers (Android, iOS, and one backend engineer), fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and calculated risk-taking
- Provide mentorship, feedback, and career development to high-performing engineers across all skill levels
- Collaborate with engineering leaders, designers, product managers, and cross-functional stakeholders to influence product roadmaps and shape mobile strategy
- Act as a bridge between mobile engineering and the broader engineering organization, translating mobile constraints and opportunities for backend, web, and infrastructure teams
- Drive product-focused initiatives, shipping new features and products while maintaining team independence and alignment with company goals

You'll lead the team building financial tools that serve these use cases seamlessly.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of engineering management experience leading mobile and/or web engineering teams
- Strong technical depth in both iOS and Android development with ability to dive deep into technical discussions
- Familiarity with Mercury's mobile stack: Kotlin (Android) and Swift/RxSwift (iOS)
- Product-minded approach with proven experience building and shipping new products
- Excellence at developing engineers, creating clear advancement paths, and building teams that execute independently while staying aligned with broader company goals
