Mirantis is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the development team building enterprise container and Kubernetes management software. The role combines technical leadership with people management, overseeing a high-performing engineering organization that serves Fortune 500 and Global 2000 customers managing mission-critical cloud-native workloads.
You will define and execute long-term technical strategy and roadmap while maintaining operational excellence, high availability, and robust software engineering practices. Key responsibilities include embedding security best practices across the software development lifecycle, including secure integration of AI technologies and agentic workflows. You will champion security architecture, threat modeling, vulnerability management, and secure coding practices to safeguard cloud-native platforms.
On the people side, you will hire, mentor, and develop a high-performing engineering organization, building clear career progression paths and fostering an inclusive culture that empowers engineers to take ownership of quality and technical innovation. You will balance feature delivery with technical debt reduction and system stability, partnering closely with Product Management and executive leadership to make disciplined trade-off decisions grounded in operational metrics and customer needs.
Cross-functional collaboration is essential: you will communicate effectively with executive stakeholders, enterprise customers, and cross-functional teams, translating real-world customer usage patterns and operational feedback into actionable engineering priorities. You will stay current with emerging industry trends in containerization, cloud security, and infrastructure innovation, driving adoption of modern tools and methodologies to maintain technical leadership.

**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology
- Minimum 7–10 years in software engineering with demonstrated experience leading or managing engineering teams in commercial software ecosystems
- Strong technical depth in distributed systems, cloud-native infrastructure, secure SDLC practices, and operational metrics in enterprise production environments
- Demonstrated success in attracting, hiring, and developing top engineering talent; setting technical vision; establishing operational excellence standards; and leading engineering teams through complex deliverables
- Excellent communication skills, including ability to present technical information clearly, collaborate with stakeholders, and work effectively in team environments
- Preferred: Experience coaching, mentoring, and managing engineering managers or team leads
