Salary: USD 345,040 - 399,420 / annual

Roblox is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead the Ads Data Platform team, which builds the foundational data systems enabling advertising on the platform. This is a hands-on leadership role at the center of Roblox's monetization strategy, responsible for systems spanning core data infrastructure, identity resolution, measurement, audience targeting, and ML feature engineering. You will build and lead a high-caliber engineering team, setting multi-quarter technical roadmaps and making prioritization decisions across five connected domains. Your team's work directly impacts whether advertisers can reach the right audiences, prove ROI, and trust reported metrics—all while maintaining Roblox's privacy and safety standards. Key responsibilities include: - Building and leading a team of software engineers with ownership of hiring, performance management, and career development - Setting and communicating technical roadmaps across data infrastructure, identity, measurement, targeting, and ML feature platforms - Partnering with product, data science, ML engineering, privacy/legal, and adjacent teams to translate business goals into engineering plans - Raising the bar on system design, data correctness, reliability (SLAs/SLOs), and operational excellence at massive scale - Championing privacy-by-design as a first-class requirement in every system - Representing team work and trade-offs to senior leadership, communicating technical risk clearly to technical and non-technical audiences Requirements: - 8+ years in software engineering with 3+ years managing engineers (hiring and performance management) - Experience delivering large-scale distributed data systems, data pipelines, streaming/batch processing, and high-volume, low-latency data stores - Strong foundation in at least one of: identity resolution, ad measurement/attribution, audience targeting/segmentation, or feature/data pipelines for ML - Demonstrated ability to set technical direction and lead teams through ambiguity - Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills - Working knowledge of data privacy principles and regulations (GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, COPPA) and commitment to building privacy-safe systems
