Menlo Security is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its Chromium engineering team. The company is the leader in Browser Security for human and agentic workforces, protecting organizations from cyberattacks across the web, documents, and email. The platform now extends to AI agents through Menlo Agent Runtime Security (MARS), and is trusted by Fortune 500 companies and government agencies.
In this role, you will design, build, and maintain Chromium-based browser components in C++, working across multiple layers including content, browser, core, compositor, skia, and networking. You'll apply strong networking fundamentals and HTTP security expertise to harden Menlo's browser isolation and network-facing infrastructure. A key part of the role involves partnering with the MARS team to build and integrate AI agent capabilities and MCP (Model Context Protocol) servers into the platform.
You'll use Python or Rust to build supporting tooling, services, and prototypes alongside core C++ work, and deploy and operate cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) with orchestration tools like Kubernetes and Terraform. The role requires debugging and optimizing performance-critical, high-scale systems across the browser and supporting infrastructure, collaborating cross-functionally with product, security, and AI engineering teams to ship capabilities end-to-end. You'll also apply AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate development, testing, and code review as part of your daily workflow.
REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
- Strong C++ engineering skills
- Strong networking fundamentals, including solid knowledge of HTTP security
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field
Preferred / Nice to Have:
- Experience across Chromium layers (content, browser, core, compositor, skia, networking) or equivalent large-scale, high-performance C++ systems experience
- Python or Rust experience
- Experience building or integrating AI agents and MCP servers
- Experience with AWS, GCP, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Linux
- Experience with Tornado, HAProxy, and AWS EC2
