Weave is seeking a Senior Engineer to join a cross-functional agile team focused on building features for desktop clients using modern web technologies. You will work alongside product managers, backend engineers, and frontend engineers in a highly autonomous environment with ownership over your work and the ability to drive decisions in Weave's best interest.
In this role, you will build and maintain features targeting Weave's desktop clients using TypeScript, React, HTML, and CSS, while contributing to the underlying platform and shared libraries. You will communicate across teams to coordinate efforts, maintain long-term code quality standards, and contribute as a valued member of an autonomous, cross-functional team in a high-trust environment. Your work will directly impact how customers experience Weave.
The ideal candidate is a skilled frontend engineer with deep experience in web application development, particularly with React and TypeScript. You will report to a Senior Engineering Manager and work in a collaborative environment focused on scalability, distributed systems, and continuous development.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4+ years of experience developing rich applications using TypeScript/JavaScript and web technologies
- 3+ years of experience with modern web application frameworks (React, Angular, Ember, or similar)
- Experience building high-performance, reusable code (e.g., UI components)
- Experience consuming RESTful APIs
- Experience with debugging
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Performance tuning and benchmarking experience
- Knowledge of web platform trends
- Experience with NW.js or Electron
- Idiomatic TypeScript expertise
- React and Redux experience
- Familiarity with Sentry and Storybook
- Testing experience with Jest and Cypress.io
