Salary: USD 150,000 - 195,000 / annual

Kodiak Robotics is seeking a Senior Electrical Harness Engineer to join its team in Mountain View, CA. The company is a leader in autonomous ground transportation, having developed AI-powered technology for commercial trucking and public sector applications. Kodiak became the first known company to publicly announce delivering a driverless semi-truck to a customer in 2024 and is also developing autonomous capabilities for the U.S. Department of Defense. In this role, you will be responsible for product-level design and validation of electrical wire harnesses and subassemblies critical to autonomous vehicle operation. You will serve as a core member of the Electrical Engineering team, designing high-quality harness assemblies that handle high-speed, low-voltage, and high-power requirements. Key responsibilities include: - Design and validate custom automotive harnesses critical to autonomous vehicle operation - Develop wire harness schematics, harness diagrams, and system interconnect diagrams - Own the full lifecycle of harness design, including technical reviews, trade studies, outsource cable manufacturing, testing, and product release - Manage harness BOM, component selection, and harness validation - Work with external partners for harness manufacturing - Lead root cause analysis and resolve issues in electrical systems - Interface closely with Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing teams and external suppliers - Utilize automated tools for harness validation You will work collaboratively across electrical, mechanical, and integration engineering teams to build safe, reliable systems for autonomous vehicles. REQUIREMENTS: - BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience - 5+ years of hardware development experience, ideally within automotive, aerospace, or related industry - Deep understanding of electrical harness designs - Troubleshooting skillset - Familiarity with IPC quality standards - Experience with implementation and on-vehicle debugging of low-level hardware buses such as CAN and Ethernet - Hands-on capability: comfortable analyzing subsystems in the shop and using technical tools - Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to write clear, detailed documentation - Passion for autonomous vehicles and their potential impact
