Saronic Technologies is developing autonomous surface vessels for maritime defense. The Special Programs team is a small, fast-moving group chartered to rapidly prototype new ideas, build and test physical prototypes, and validate future products.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will design, build, and test electrical systems for complex autonomous platforms and edge devices. Your work will span power management and distribution, embedded electronics, sensor integration, radio systems, and actuator control. You'll develop both low- and high-voltage electrical architectures for rapid prototypes, create wiring diagrams and schematics using CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks), and select electrical components optimized for harsh marine environments. You will collaborate with a small team to solve robust technical problems under resource and time constraints, work with vendors and manufacturing partners on component sourcing and assembly, and support field testing and government demonstrations.
This is a hands-on role at the frontier of maritime autonomy technology, requiring comfort with high uncertainty, minimal resources, compressed timelines, and aggressive goals.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience building complex systems (autonomous platforms, edge devices) with focus on electrical system design and support
- Proficiency in power systems engineering
- Comfort working with embedded systems and microcontrollers
- Familiarity with high-voltage or high-current systems
- Knowledge of EMI/EMC best practices and environmental ruggedization
- Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing and embedded debugging
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment
- Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Comfort operating with high uncertainty, minimal resources, compressed timelines, and aggressive goals
- Experience in marine, aerospace, robotics, or automotive hardware development is a plus
- Familiarity with programming languages and software development practices is a plus
