Unlimited Industries is automating construction end-to-end to modernize infrastructure development. The company is building an AI-powered automated design engine that produces end-to-end construction design deliverables for large-scale capital projects such as utility-scale power generation and data centers.
You will join as a Senior Electrical Engineer, bringing deep hands-on electrical expertise into the product. Your role is to pair years of practical design experience with product development, translating how an excellent electrical engineer thinks, reviews, and makes judgment calls into capabilities within the automated design engine. You will set the standard for what "correct" means on every electrical deliverable the company ships.
Your primary responsibility is to embed electrical engineering best practices and domain knowledge into an AI-assisted design automation platform. You'll work on translating complex electrical design processes—from one-line diagrams and load flow analysis through HV/MV distribution, substations, transformers, and switchgear—into scalable software tools. This is hands-on engineering work focused on execution and problem-solving rather than management.
The company emphasizes first-principles thinking, challenging industry conventions that have remained largely unchanged for 70+ years, and ruthlessly prioritizing impact by identifying and solving the most critical bottlenecks. The team includes roughly 50% former founders and values technical excellence with ego-free collaboration.
This is an in-person role based in San Francisco, CA.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Significant hands-on electrical design experience at senior level
- Experience in one or more phases of design, construction, commissioning, and operation of utility-scale power generation facilities
- Owned the electrical design of large-scale power distribution systems end-to-end, from one-line diagrams and load flow through HV/MV distribution, substations, transformers, and switchgear—ideally on utility-scale generation (solar, BESS, or gas plants) or on the load side of large industrial power systems such as data centers or heavy industrial facilities
- T-shaped technical expertise: broad understanding of how civil scope connects to adjacent disciplines and trade-off implications, with deep expertise in 1-2 specific areas
- Evidence of strong first-principles thinking and willingness to challenge established practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-performance environment with extreme ownership mindset
- Hands-on execution focus; ability to speak to technical minutia and details of your work
- Mission alignment and desire to build a future of abundance
- Professional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred
BONUS:
- Experience building calculation, analysis, or design-automation tools
- Experience with AI coding agent tools (Codex, Claude Code, etc.) for work or personal projects
