Harmattan AI is a next-generation defense prime building autonomous and scalable defense systems. Following a $200M Series B at a $1.4B valuation, the company is expanding teams to deliver mission-critical systems to allied forces. In this role, you will design and develop electronic boards and embedded systems (SoM) for UAVs, including Flight Controllers, Companion Computers, and Electronic Speed Controllers. Your responsibilities span the full lifecycle of electrical system development: - High-performance embedded system design: Define architecture and design physical/electrical integration of complex systems based on processors, fast memory (DDR, Flash), and peripherals such as embedded computers, sensors, and video processing. - Advanced schematic and routing design: Develop electronic schematics and perform board placement/routing to meet design specifications while managing fast signal constraints. - Physical integration: Collaborate with the Mechanical Department to ensure seamless physical integration of boards into final products. - Sensor integration: Work closely with the GNC (Guidance, Navigation, and Control) Department to ensure accurate and effective sensor integration. - Electromagnetic compatibility: Address and resolve EMC challenges while ensuring signal integrity. - Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve issues in electrical and electronic boards through effective troubleshooting. - Testing and validation: Conduct testing, integration, and performance validation of electronic boards to meet operational and design requirements. REQUIREMENTS: - Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field - Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in complex electronic system design - In-depth knowledge of processors, memory domains (DDR, Flash), and electronic CAD tools (e.g., Altium) - Proficiency with electronic test equipment - Experience with Robotics or Aerospace systems is a strong advantage - Ability to work autonomously and solve complex technical challenges - Excellent written and verbal communication; capable of interacting with diverse stakeholders from junior members to senior executives - 100% commitment to the company's mission and ambitious growth plans
