Salary: USD 125,000 - 200,000 / annual

Formlabs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team in Somerville, MA. The company develops 3D printing technology used by over 50,000 industry leaders worldwide, including Apple, Google, Tesla, New Balance, and NASA. In this role, you will design and build prototypes and production electronic systems, including circuit design, PCB layout, embedded firmware development, bring-up, and validation. You'll design sensing and motion systems from scratch when off-the-shelf options prove unsuitable, applying a scientific approach to engineering design problems by creating experiments, collecting and analyzing data, and making informed decisions. As you grow in the role, you'll own system-level architecture and mentor other engineers. You'll work at the intersection of analog and digital worlds, developing elegant solutions to real-world problems. The position involves hands-on work throughout the product lifecycle, from early research through debugging field failures. You'll be comfortable working with both circuits and code, often getting involved with bare-metal microcontroller firmware, embedded Linux, Python tooling development, and other software-related tasks. REQUIREMENTS: - Minimum 3 years of experience designing production-ready electronics - Portfolio demonstrating your skills and experience - Ability to support design choices with data - Proficiency with both circuits and code (bare-metal microcontroller firmware, embedded Linux, Python) - Hands-on approach and commitment to supporting designs throughout product lifecycle BONUS SKILLS: - Experience with line-voltage or high-power electronics - Signal processing and/or digital feedback control systems experience - Signal integrity and EMC debugging experience
