Acronis, a global leader in cyber protection with 15 offices worldwide and 50+ countries represented, is seeking a Senior DevOps/Build System Engineer to own and evolve the build system for a large, complex software product assembled from hundreds of interdependent components written in multiple programming languages.
You will be responsible for designing and maintaining end-to-end build pipelines, including isolated and reproducible builds, dependency and version management, build agents and farms, artifact repositories, and caching strategies. You'll assemble and validate release deliverables (packages, images, installation artifacts) across multiple supported release lines, and build and operate the complete release pipeline with automated validation, regression gating, artifact signing, promotion between channels, and publishing/rollback procedures.
Key responsibilities include keeping the product buildable through toolchain and dependency upgrades, maintaining traceability of all shipped artifacts (versioning, changelogs, provenance, license and SBOM data), and automating build tooling and release steps in Python and shell. You'll support developers and QA with fast self-service builds, diagnose build failures, extend CI/CD coverage, and own the build infrastructure itself including build hosts, builder images, and artifact storage. You'll investigate complex build failures, leverage AI-assisted engineering tools, document processes for reproducibility, and maintain clear communication with development leadership on build status and risks.

- Strong CI/CD engineering experience: Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or comparable; pipelines as code, build agents, artifact repositories
- Solid experience with software packaging and distribution of binary artifacts on Linux, including artifact signing and repository/channel management
- Ability to read, fix, and take over build definitions across multiple languages and build tools (make, CMake, autotools, language-native tooling)
- Deep understanding of dependency and version management, reproducible and hermetic builds, incremental builds, and build caching
- Solid Python and shell scripting for build tooling and release automation
- Strong Linux systems knowledge, plus containers and configuration management tooling
- Confident with Git and branching/release models for products maintaining multiple releases simultaneously
- Experience delivering updates to installed software (channels, staged rollout, acceptance, rollback) is a strong advantage
- Familiarity with software supply chain practices: signing, SBOM, dependency and vulnerability scanning
- Experience scaling build systems (parallelism, distributed builds, reducing build times) is a strong advantage
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; patience to take over large inherited build systems with incomplete documentation
- AI-assisted engineering experience is mandatory, including practical use for development, debugging, log analysis, investigation, and technical research
- Demonstrated ability to treat the build as a product and share technical expertise across teams
- Excellent English communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
