LiveEO is seeking a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer to build and operate secure infrastructure for customers with high confidentiality, isolation, and control requirements, including public-sector and critical-infrastructure organizations.
You will design and run isolated, access-controlled cloud environments using Infrastructure as Code; operate on-premises compute infrastructure end-to-end (hardening, patching, access management, audit logging, backups, GPU workloads); enable product deployments in isolated customer environments including offline installation and reproducible builds; implement and document technical controls aligned with BSI IT-Grundschutz and ISO 27001; build logging, monitoring, and forensic readiness for incident detection and investigation; and establish practices for secure deployment, secrets management, and least-privilege access across the engineering organization.
You will be part of LiveEO's Information Security & Sovereign Operations team, collaborating closely with ML, data, and software engineers to ship models and services securely; aligning with the Infrastructure team on standards and tooling; working with security and compliance colleagues on audits and certifications; and supporting customer IT and security teams during on-site deployments.
Tech stack includes: AWS (EC2, S3, IAM, VPC, EKS, Aurora/PostgreSQL, multi-account setups), Terraform, Ansible, Docker, Kubernetes, GitLab CI/CD, Prefect (workflow orchestration), Anyscale/Ray (distributed compute), Teleport, Tailscale, AWS SSO, Linux servers with GPU compute, Prometheus, Grafana, Python, and Bash.
This is a hands-on role with high ownership. You will shape how the company's most security-sensitive systems are built, run, and audited. LiveEO is a fast-moving team focused on turning satellite data into reliable, actionable decisions for real operations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 5+ years in DevOps, platform, or site reliability engineering
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS and Terraform
- Kubernetes and container orchestration expertise
- Experience building and operating infrastructure in offline or air-gapped environments
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g., public sector, KRITIS, finance)
- Private cloud experience (e.g., OpenStack)
- Operating GPU servers or ML infrastructure, including workload schedulers
- Familiarity with BSI IT-Grundschutz or ISO 27001
- Observability with Prometheus, Grafana, or similar tools
- AWS and/or Terraform certifications (preferred)
