Scribe is a specialized intelligence platform used by 94% of the Fortune 500 to capture and operationalize how work happens across their organizations. The company has grown to 90,000+ customers and 7 million users since 2019, raised a $75M Series C at $1.3B valuation in November 2025, and is based in San Francisco.
As Senior DevOps Engineer, you will architect, maintain, and scale Scribe's critical infrastructure to support rapid growth. You'll own end-to-end responsibility for system reliability, performance optimization, and modern deployment strategies that enable engineering teams to ship with confidence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Architect and scale AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure as the company grows
- Design and implement zero-downtime deployment strategies with automated rollback capabilities
- Build and maintain Terraform modules that the broader engineering team relies on for infrastructure changes
- Lead capacity planning and cost management across production systems
- Build observability into services using Honeycomb, Sentry, and CloudWatch to surface issues before they become incidents
- Manage CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions to enable confident deployments
- Own networking and traffic routing decisions, including load balancing and DNS
This is a high-impact role at a critical inflection point: the company has just closed Series C funding, revenue has more than doubled year-over-year, and many core systems are still being designed. You'll have significant ownership and influence over infrastructure decisions that support enterprise customers like T-Mobile, LinkedIn, HubSpot, New York Life, and Northern Trust.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering
- Deep AWS expertise including EKS, VPC, S3, RDS/Aurora, and fluency in the Well-Architected framework
- Production Kubernetes experience including cluster administration, multi-environment management, and Terraform at scale (module development, state management)
- Hands-on experience deploying CNCF tooling in production (Helm, Karpenter) and building CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions
- Demonstrated use of observability tools (Honeycomb, Sentry, CloudWatch) to diagnose production issues and implement zero-downtime deployments with automated rollbacks
- Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, traffic routing)
- Experience managing async job processing and message queues at scale
- Scripting and automation in Python, Go, Bash, or similar languages
- Track record of capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost management
- Familiarity with authoring AGENTS.md files and DNA scaffolding for AI review bots
NICE TO HAVE:
- Designed alerting strategies and on-call runbooks for production services
- Built dashboards for real-time service health monitoring
- Database monitoring experience for RDS Postgres and custom metrics instrumentation
- Application profiling to identify performance bottlenecks
- Cloudflare WAF experience (origin shielding, firewall rules)
- Okta SSO integration and RBAC design across AWS and Kubernetes
