Formlabs is seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join its Platform Engineering team in Budapest. The role is hybrid with required weekly office presence.
Formlabs builds 3D printing technology and software that powers innovation across 50,000+ industry leaders worldwide, including Apple, Google, Tesla, New Balance, and NASA. The Platform Engineering team is responsible for the infrastructure, tooling, and systems that enable developers and testers to innovate faster and deliver reliable, high-quality software.
In this role, you will design, build, and operate reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure supporting Formlabs' software and services. You'll drive improvements in developer experience through better CI/CD pipelines, observability, and platform tooling. You'll take ownership of production systems with a proactive mindset toward monitoring, performance, and continuous improvement, and lead architectural decisions that impact infrastructure and how engineering teams interact with it.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and operate reliable, secure, scalable infrastructure for development, testing, and production
- Improve developer experience through CI/CD pipelines, observability, and platform tooling
- Proactively monitor and improve production systems
- Lead and contribute to infrastructure architectural decisions
- Mentor other engineers through technical guidance, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
- Build and maintain Kubernetes-based platforms and cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS)
- Ensure robust, actionable, and scalable monitoring, logging, and alerting systems
- Work cross-functionally with Software, Test, and Data teams

Requirements:
- BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
- 5+ years of relevant experience in DevOps, Platform, or SRE roles supporting production SaaS systems
- Hands-on expertise with Linux systems administration and troubleshooting
- Kubernetes proficiency
- Cloud platforms (GCP, AWS)
- Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD, etc.)
- CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.)
- Scripting in Bash, Python, or similar languages
- Monitoring and observability systems (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, Sentry, etc.)
- Strong understanding of modern infrastructure security principles
- Solid networking fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP/S)
- Experience supporting complex distributed systems in production environments
Bonus skills: familiarity with 3D printing workflows or hardware/software integration, background in building developer platforms or internal tooling for large engineering teams, strong interest in improving engineering productivity through automation and tooling.
