Salary: USD 135,000 - 150,000 / annual
BitSight is a cyber risk management leader that helps companies manage cybersecurity exposure, performance, and risk. The company operates a SaaS platform built on over a decade of technological innovation, serving over 3,500 customers with integrated solutions spanning enterprise security performance, digital supply chains, cyber insurance, and data analysis.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will join the Platform Engineering function and act as a technical reference and strategic leader for the DevOps team. Development and DevOps operate as one integrated engineering team at BitSight with no silos.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate, scale, and troubleshoot BitSight's SaaS cloud infrastructure with focus on reliability, efficiency, and security; provide occasional off-shift availability for production issues or maintenance
- Design and solve complex, system-level problems affecting multiple components; proactively anticipate performance and scalability issues before they arise
- Pioneer self-optimizing infrastructure systems and leverage AI to accelerate feature delivery; treat AI-assisted infrastructure automation as a strict systems challenge requiring manual and staging validation before production deployment
- Act as an enabler of team efficiency by breaking down complex problems into optimized parallel work streams; propose creative solutions and lead design-level discussions
- Drive organizational best practices for infrastructure, advocate for high-quality documentation, and mentor early-stage senior engineers on system design
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a DevOps/Operations engineer in a SaaS environment
- Extensive experience with Linux systems (Ubuntu/Debian/CentOS preferred) and general automation scripting (Bash/Python)
- Deep experience with container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and major cloud providers (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
- Strong expertise with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) principles and tools, such as Terraform
- Demonstrated fluency in leveraging AI tools to accelerate infrastructure delivery, with strong understanding of how to safely validate, govern, and measure ROI of AI-assisted automation
- Strategic thinking capabilities; ability to understand customer "job to be done" and gather empirical data to guide decision-making
- Demonstrated bias for action on tough calls, accountability, and proactive communication of project status, risks, and milestones
- Well-organized, team-oriented individual with excellent English communication skills (written and spoken)
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Gitlab) and Configuration Management (Chef, Ansible)
- Experience with advanced Observability, Monitoring, and Logging stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, JSM, Datadog, SumoLogic, ELK, Groundcover)
- Strong understanding of network engineering and security principles (Internet protocols, firewalls, routing)
