GetYourGuide is seeking a Senior Design Systems Manager to lead the evolution of design systems and processes across the organization. This is a strategic leadership role within the UX organization, responsible for shaping how the company approaches product development through systems thinking.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and govern the design language team, ensuring consistency, efficiency, and scalability across all products and functions
- Shape the future of design systems by integrating automation, AI-assisted tooling, and code-driven design practices
- Bridge design, engineering, and product strategy to create new ways of working that eliminate unnecessary stages and level up the entire tech organization
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams including Product Design, Content Design, Product Management, Engineering, Research, and Data teams
- Guide teams in using the design system effectively while fostering a culture of systems thinking over isolated solutions
- Work across all stages of product development: requirements gathering, ideation, concept development, validation, wireframing, prototyping, visual design, and implementation support
- Anticipate and embed emerging trends like generative UI, adaptive theming, and real-time personalization into the system roadmap
- Advance the discipline of high-quality product design within the organization
- Sequence complex projects into manageable steps that drive progress across teams
- Ensure design decisions are grounded in solving real user problems while aligning with business objectives
You will work at multiple levels—from strategic vision and team strategy to tactical execution—with empathy for both technical needs and customer needs. The role requires thriving in ambiguity, strong human-centered design processes, and the ability to create intuitive, scalable experiences.

REQUIREMENTS:
- 10+ years of experience in product design leadership with strong systems thinking
- Strong vision thinking with proven projects that have shaped/influenced organizational thinking
- Track record of designing and shipping design patterns that scaled to millions of users with successful outcomes for global users and business
- AI expertise: knowledge of ongoing trends and capabilities with AI in design systems
- Experience creating efficiencies with teams across various engagement models (centralized, embedded)
- Deep understanding of frontend interactions and backend logic; seamless collaboration with engineers
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive clarity connecting user, technology, and business needs
- Experience connecting dots across the organization and driving cross-functional collaboration
- Exceptional collaboration skills with proven processes for bringing tech functions together
- Extraordinary thoughtfulness in interaction design and prototyping
- Humble, collaborative approach to partnering with PMs, engineers, and business stakeholders
- Experience collaborating with machine learning and data science teams
- Outstanding portfolio demonstrating leadership that shaped company thinking about design, consistency, and scale
- Proven leadership in pivoting to various business needs and moving designers toward shifting goals
