Jane App is a founder-led, high-growth SaaS company serving the healthcare clinic management space. With over 70,000 businesses and 250,000+ daily practitioners using the platform, Jane is scaling rapidly across North America and the UK. The Data Performance and Tooling Team builds foundational data infrastructure that powers decision-making across the company. This role reports to Cheng, the team lead, and focuses on unblocking two major infrastructure projects while shaping Jane's data strategy at scale. You will own end-to-end data infrastructure work, including designing and deploying production-grade data pipelines, building a secure centralized data lake, and creating high-performance streaming applications. You'll partner closely with analytics, product, and platform teams to understand their needs, translate them into technical requirements, and iterate based on real-world usage. You'll also own the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects—from architecture and implementation through production, documentation, operational runbooks, and knowledge transfer. Jane is embracing AI as a tool to accelerate infrastructure work, freeing you to focus on hard technical thinking. You'll communicate technical decisions clearly to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders, and help implement best-in-class security controls for the data lake. The company is remote-first with teams across Canada, the US, and the UK. Jane was valued at $1.8B in May 2025 with backing from TCV, and stock has grown 11x over six years with three exercise opportunities. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years working with production data infrastructure in SaaS or data-heavy environments - Strong SQL and data warehouse fundamentals: ETL/ELT patterns, schema design, query optimization, performance troubleshooting - Hands-on experience with AWS services and infrastructure-as-code (Amazon MSK, AWS Glue, Terraform) - Experience with modern data lake and data warehouse technologies, particularly Apache Iceberg and Snowflake - Experience implementing database replication and change data capture pipelines (Kafka, Debezium, Flink, Spark) - Track record of owning infrastructure end-to-end: design, production deployment, operations, iteration based on user feedback - Ability to communicate technical decisions to engineering and non-technical stakeholders - Nice to have: Ruby on Rails monolithic application experience Note: The posting explicitly welcomes candidates who don't meet every qualification but are excited about the role.
