Salary: USD 145,000 - 175,000 / annual
Unite Us is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable data architecture and infrastructure supporting healthcare and social care clients. You will work collaboratively with Application Engineers, Product Managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, high-quality data solutions including ETL pipelines and data warehouse integrations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement data architecture and infrastructure aligned with business objectives
- Develop, create, and maintain ETL processes and data pipeline solutions for efficient data warehouse loading
- Test, monitor, and optimize data pipelines to ensure reliability, performance, and scalability
- Collect and validate high-quality data while ensuring data integrity and governance standards
- Champion data democratization and enable accessibility to well-documented data for stakeholders
- Guide engineering teams on technical and data engineering best practices
- Contribute to system and platform architecture decisions
- Support operational activities including customer onboarding to data products
- Participate in team on-call rotations
- Partner with cross-functional teams including Solutions Delivery, Business Intelligence, Predictive Analytics, and Enterprise Services
- Address and resolve data-related technical issues

REQUIREMENTS:
- 6–8+ years of experience designing, building, and operating data warehouses, data lakes, and ETL/ELT pipelines in production environments
- Proven experience building, designing, or optimizing data pipelines using Snowflake
- Experience with data transformation tools like DBT
- Proven expertise architecting and optimizing batch and streaming data pipelines
- Advanced SQL knowledge, including complex query authoring and familiarity with relational databases (Snowflake, Redshift, Postgres)
- Strong proficiency in Python for building, optimizing, and maintaining data pipelines and services
- Experience with orchestration frameworks such as Apache Airflow
- Exposure to or experience with AWS cloud services (S3, ECS, RDS) and building cloud-native data platforms
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines for testing, deployment, and release (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
- Experience with infrastructure and data tooling including Kubernetes, Terraform, and Docker
- Exposure to or experience with Kafka
- Experience developing or delivering data platforms for large enterprise clients
- Background or previous engagement with healthcare and/or social determinants of health (SDOH) data products, including designing, building, or maintaining pipelines for healthcare claims and clinical data, with understanding of data quality, scale, sensitivity, and compliance requirements
- Experience designing high-performance, reliable systems with exposure to operational best practices
- Exposure to or experience with data quality frameworks
- Experience supporting analytics, reporting, or data user tools (Tableau, Looker, ThoughtSpot, Sigma)
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with ability to identify, investigate, and resolve complex data issues and system failures
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and non-technical stakeholders
- BS/BA degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
