Obviant is seeking a Senior Data & BI Automation Analyst to lead high-impact analytics and data pipeline initiatives that scale decision-making capabilities, streamline internal workflows, and optimize business performance.
In this role, you will act as a trusted technical partner designing automated reporting frameworks, building robust data delivery mechanisms, and replacing manual workflows with resilient, self-service data systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, deploy, and maintain automated reporting frameworks, self-updating dashboards, and data delivery pipelines using modern BI tools and orchestrators
- Audit existing manual reporting processes across teams, replacing fragmented spreadsheets and ad-hoc queries with automated, production-grade scripts and data workflows
- Interface directly with business leaders, cross-functional teams, and government partners to conduct targeted analytics and translate complex business needs into scalable, automated solutions
- Partner closely with Data Engineering to design and optimize analytical data models, automated data transformations, and scheduled ELT/ETL jobs (e.g., dbt, Airflow)
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Operations teams to translate complex automated data models into clear, actionable, self-service business insights
- Pioneer automated data quality frameworks, monitoring systems, and scalable metrics trees as the company expands

Requirements:
- 4+ years of professional experience in data analytics, BI engineering, or data automation with a proven track record of automating operational workflows
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, or a field with strong quantitative/technical focus (preferred)
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and experience with modern transformation layer tools (e.g., dbt) for building scheduled, production-grade data models
- Strong programming skills in Python using libraries for API integration, data manipulation, and task automation (e.g., Pandas, Airflow, Prefect, or custom cron jobs)
- Deep hands-on experience setting up automated, self-service BI dashboards and semantic layers using enterprise tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI)
- Proven ability to distill complex automated architectures and data models into clear, actionable business narratives for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Strong project management skills with ability to take automation projects from scoping and architecture design through execution and stakeholder adoption
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, ego-free environment
