Veeam Software is seeking a Senior C# Developer to join the Explorers and Identity Resilience team in Warsaw. The role focuses on two main product areas: Veeam Explorers (granular recovery for SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Exchange, and SharePoint via REST and gRPC APIs) and Active Directory Forest Recovery (rebuilding entire AD forests after domain-wide outages or ransomware attacks). Both systems share a common architecture: a server orchestrating remote agents over versioned contracts, executing long-running operations that must survive failure at any step.
You will design and implement recovery flows end-to-end, including REST and gRPC contracts, server-side orchestration, and agent execution on target machines. You'll build PowerShell cmdlets as a first-class product surface with parameter validation and coherent object models. You'll design pre-flight validation across REST, server, and agent layers to catch issues before restores begin. The role requires deep familiarity with what you're recovering: SQL Server, Oracle, and PostgreSQL internals, or Active Directory internals including domain controller promotion, SYSVOL, NTDS, DNS, Kerberos, and replication. You'll manage long-running distributed sessions including agent deployment, keep-alive, cleanup on failure, timeout, and cancellation. You'll own your integration test suite and refactor the long-lived codebase as you go—this is a mature product, and improving existing code is part of the job.
Technologies include C#, .NET, REST, gRPC/Protobuf, PowerShell, multithreading and async patterns, Windows Server and Active Directory, Linux, MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, VMware, Hyper-V, Git, TFS, Visual Studio, and Rider.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of commercial C# product development with deep understanding of .NET, data structures, and algorithms
- Experience designing service APIs (REST, gRPC, or similar) where consumers are external and backward compatibility matters
- Strong async and multithreading skills: cancellation, session lifecycle, hours-long operations
- Depth in at least one of: Windows Server and Active Directory administration or internals; or database recovery mechanics for SQL Server, Oracle, or PostgreSQL
- Comfort in large existing codebases: reading unfamiliar code, refactoring safely
- English proficiency for daily work in an international team
