The company combines world-class engineering talent (aerospace, defense, medical device, and advanced manufacturing backgrounds) with a culture of autonomy, collaboration, and operational excellence. As Senior Buyer, Production, you will own material readiness and supply planning for an assigned portfolio of production parts as the company scales manufacturing. This is a hands-on role requiring proactive supply chain management, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to anticipate and mitigate supply risks before they impact production. Key responsibilities include: - Own day-to-day supply planning and purchasing for your assigned portfolio, maintaining material availability within MIN/MAX inventory levels - Maintain accurate purchase orders, lead times, and supplier commitments, clearly distinguishing firm orders from forecast quantities - Lead category-level Clear-to-Build (CTB) tracking and support weekly executive reviews with early visibility into constraints and mitigation plans - Monitor supplier delivery, quality, and capacity trends; execute supply containment actions and coordinate corrective actions with Commodity Managers and supplier teams - Anticipate supplier risks as production scales and prioritize competing issues based on production impact - Coordinate part transitions and last-time buys with Engineering and Production Control, balancing inventory, yield, cycle time, and excess/obsolescence risks - Request volume pricing ahead of production ramps, obtain competitive quotes, and track purchase price variance and expedite spending - Strengthen shared planning tools and documented processes, including verified lead times and cross-coverage with peer buyers You will partner closely with Production Control, Engineering, Commodity Managers, Quality Engineers, and Finance. Success requires strong attention to detail, sound judgment under competing priorities, and the ability to anticipate how today's supplier performance affects tomorrow's production volumes. The role is based in Broomfield, Colorado (between Boulder and Denver) with hybrid flexibility. The office is dog-friendly and state-of-the-art, with regular collaborative in-person sessions. QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in a technical or operational field (e.g., Engineering, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering). MBA, Master's in Supply Chain, or APICS CPIM Certification is a plus. - 3–5 years of relevant experience in production purchasing, buying, supply planning, or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment. Practical experience in military, consulting, or finance operations will also be considered. - Understanding of product lifecycles, BOM development, and how upstream planning impacts downstream execution. - Strong spreadsheet and planning-tool skills, including ability to maintain reliable formulas, validate planning data, and improve shared workflows. - Sound judgment when prioritizing competing supply issues, balancing inventory and transition costs, and determining when to act independently or escalate. - Ability to effectively communicate and build strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders. - Self-starter mindset—excited to build from scratch, lead without authority, and deliver results that unlock program execution.
