Playground Global is a venture capital firm managing over $1.7 billion, investing in early-stage companies in next-generation compute, industrial transformation, and engineered biology. We're hiring a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to design and build internal tools that serve our investing, fundraising, and finance teams. In this role, you'll combine product thinking with technical execution. You'll work directly with investment, fundraising, and finance teams to understand their workflows, identify friction points, and prioritize what's worth building. Rather than building everything from scratch, you'll orchestrate modern AI tools and existing software to ship solutions quickly while maintaining security and scalability. Key responsibilities include: - Stakeholder Discovery & Roadmapping: Meet with internal teams to map workflows, understand competing needs, and build a clear, prioritized roadmap of internal tools. - Building & Shipping: Own end-to-end delivery of internal tools, from conception to daily adoption. Use AI-assisted development with strong engineering judgment to keep implementations secure, maintainable, and scalable. - Data Security & Reliability: Own the security and reliability of tools handling sensitive fund, LP, and portfolio data. - Portfolio & LP Intelligence: Build robust, single-source-of-truth dashboards for internal leadership and LPs, providing real-time visibility into fund performance, valuations, and distributions. - Investor Relations: Partner with the IR team to optimize CRM and data workflows for seamless LP tracking and institutional-grade reporting. - Pipeline Analytics: Establish scalable monitoring and analytics across the deal pipeline to give the investment team clear, actionable visibility. - Network Intelligence: Unlock insights from firm-wide network data to enhance diligence, expand coverage, and power data-driven investment decisions. - Software Evaluation: Evaluate new software and AI products, test promising solutions, and adopt what earns its place in the firm's toolkit. Success in 6–12 months means you've shipped one or two tools that people use daily, mapped every team's workflows, established a clear internal-tools roadmap with high-friction problems solved, and created a secure, repeatable process for evaluating and adopting new software and AI across the firm. Requirements: - 4+ years of experience building and shipping software or products in a fast-paced environment. - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or comparable discipline, or equivalent practical experience. - Proven track record of taking software from "what do people need?" to "they use it every day." You should be able to point to specific shipped products. - Strong stakeholder and communication skills: ability to draw out real needs (often different from stated requests), align competing priorities, and keep non-technical partners informed. - Software-engineering foundation: enough hands-on background to make sound architectural decisions, direct AI build tools effectively, and ensure secure, scalable implementations. Full-time engineering experience not required. - Fluency with modern AI tooling and good judgment about where it adds value. - Comfort in finance or investment settings: enough understanding of how funds and their data work to be credible with CFO and investment teams. Deep finance expertise not required. - Bonus: genuine curiosity about deep tech (compute, automation, energy, biology). - Experience at a venture capital or equivalent financial institution is helpful but not required.
