As a Senior Backend Engineer on the Studio team, you will build and operate agentic systems at the core of an AI-powered soundtracking product. Studio enables creators to upload video and receive a complete, editable soundscape of music, sound effects, and ambience assembled by a pipeline of AI agents.
You will work across a modern tech stack: Python agent platform, Go and GraphQL Studio API, and TypeScript/React editor, all running on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Your responsibilities include:
- Building and operating production agentic systems, including the multi-agent pipeline that transforms video understanding into soundscapes and a tool-using conversational Assistant
- Developing backend services across the Python agent platform and Go/GraphQL API, including Pub/Sub-driven workers, video ingest and analysis, and GKE workloads
- Owning reliability and observability for systems with variable outputs through dashboards, alerting, and measurable quality evaluations
- Shipping iteratively behind feature flags and managing rollouts and incident response
- Partnering with frontend engineers, product managers, and designers on the Assistant launch and video analysis platform evolution
REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong backend engineering experience with distributed systems; production experience in Python and/or Go
- Demonstrated experience building agentic systems that reached real users (LLM agents with tool use, multi-step pipelines, or conversational assistants)
- Production experience owning services on a major cloud platform (GCP or equivalent), including event-driven architecture, observability, and incident response
- Ability to drive problems forward independently and engage in open, constructive challenge of decisions
NICE-TO-HAVE:
- Audio/music technology or media processing experience (transcoding, streaming, loudness)
- ML experience beyond API consumption (model training/fine-tuning, computer vision, stream processing)
- Video understanding or multimodal model experience
- Frontend fluency in TypeScript/React
